1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Fun Fact: Director Mike Newell (pictured above) never knew Alan Rickman wore black contact lenses, thinking his eyes were naturally colored like Snape's. He got quite the shock when Rickman turned to him and popped one of the lenses out! Who says Snape doesn't have a sense of humor?
2. The Dark Knight (2008)
Fun Fact: Heath Ledger imagined that the Joker would have haphazardly applied his own dishevelled make-up himself, so that's exactly what he did! After experimenting with cosmetics he bought from a drug store, the movie's professional artists were left to emulate Ledger's homemade design before filming.
3. The Avengers (2012)
Fun Fact: Because of scheduling overlaps, there were very few times that the cast members were all in town at once. On the rare occasion that they were, Chris Evans made sure to send a rousing group message that simply read "Assemble."
4. Jurassic Park III (2001)
Fun Fact: The movie's animatronic Spinosaurus had a 1,000-horsepower motor and that allowed the mechanical creature to turn its head at twice the force of gravity. Not only that, but the tip of its nose could move at speeds over 100 miles per hour!
5. Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Fun Fact: To prepare for his role as Hannibal Lecter, Anthony Hopkins studied the real life files of serial killers, even attending actual court hearings on serial killings.
6. Forrest Gump (1994)
Fun Fact: Hanks didn't demand a salary for the movie, instead taking percentage points of its earnings, netting him a cool $40 million.
7. The Lord of the Rings (2001 - 2003)
Fun Fact: When shooting was finally finished, Peter Jackson gave one of the rings to both Elijah Wood and Andy Serkis, with each actor thinking they owned the only copy.
8. The Shining (1980)
Fun Fact: According to Shelley Duvall, the now iconic 'Heeeeere's Johnny!' scene took 3 days to film and claimed the life of 60 doors.
9. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
Fun Fact: The chocolate river seen in the film is actually made of chocolate! However, the concoction - also made with water and cream - didn't take long to go bad, leaving a rather foul residual smell.
10. The Muppet Movie (1979)
Fun Fact: Jim Henson (pictured above) spent a whole nightmarish day hunkered down in a 50-gallon steel drum, submerged in a pond in order to get the opening swamp shots with Kermit.
11. Titanic (1997)
Fun Fact: When she realized she'd eventually have to strip down in front of Leonardo DiCaprio during shooting, Kate Winslet thought she'd break the ice early, flashing the actor the very first time they met!
12. Kill Bill (2003)
Fun Fact: Just before their climactic fight scene, O-Ren says to The Bride "I hope you saved your energy. If you haven't you may not last 5 minutes." It is exactly 4 minutes and 59 seconds from the moment she steps forward until the final killing blow.
13. 300 (2006)
Fun Fact: In order to beef up for his role as King Leonidas, Gerard Butler spent around 4 hours a day in the gym for over 4 months straight.
14. Django Unchained (2012)
Fun Fact: During filming, Jamie Foxx used his own personal horse named Cheetah.
15. Inception (2010)
Fun Fact: If you pay attention to the first letters of the each main character's name - Dom, Robert, Eames, Arthur, Mal and Saito - you'll notice they spell "Dreams."
16. Back to the Future Part III (1990)
Fun Fact: Doc's kiss with Clara was Christopher Lloyd's first ever kissing scene in his career.
17. E.T. (1982)
Fun Fact: Most of E.T.'s movements were achieved using a full-body puppet operated by a 2'10" tall stuntman.
