Kangana Ranaut is this year's biggest box-office star, with 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' headed towards a Rs 150 crore haul at the box-office. So the prospect of yet another Ranaut release (after 'I Love NY') in the next few months should be great news, right?
Well, yes and no. 'Katti Batti', an upcoming rom-com directed by Nikhil Advani ('Kal Ho Naa Ho', 'D-Day'), stars Ranaut and Imran Khan as the oddly-matched Payal and Maddy respectively. She's flighty and feisty; he's sombre and sober (in behaviour, at least). The trailer reveals to us that this pair dates for five years following which Payal takes off, leaving Maddy heartbroken.
From what one can tell, the plot seems similar to Marc Webb's '(500) Days Of Summer' (2009), starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel in similar roles. Its glossy aesthetic and characterisation also has shades of Khan's previous movies: 'Break Ke Baad' (2010) and 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' (2012).

The trailer was uploaded on Sunday. At least one Twitter user was quick to spot the similarities to Webb's debut.
Hey, we're hoping the movie proves us wrong. Also, the title has successfully gottenthis song stuck in our heads.
