The only thing worse then scoring low marks in your exams or even flunking them is seeing the front page of the newspapers the next day of the exam results.
A bunch of students jumping, screaming, parents shoving sweets in their mouths, their bodies visibly swollen with pride.
It is all fine for the students who scored well, the one jumping and with sweets in their mouths, but the ones who didn't, its like getting stabbed a thousand times. Out of millions of students, only a few make it to the headlines.'Girls outshine boys yet again', 'What next for class XII students', 'State's Pass Percentage Slides to 95.45', the headlines are enough to give an adult a panic attack, let alone a student that appeared for the exams.
But this sets of a cycle of expectations, self doubt and insecurity in students as well as parents.
And its no fun and games for many. Every year, almost without fail, news of students killing themselves as a result of poor exam results replaces those exact spots in the newspaper next day.
In times like these, it always helps if someone can show you the bigger picture, to tell you its alright and that its not the end of the world.
Stand-up comic Vir Das is doing exactly that.
In a video uploaded on YouTube 'for all those kids and parents out there who are waiting for the dreaded Board Exam results', he tries to give a 'little slice of life in 3 minutes'.
