WUHAN, China -– The eyes of the Chinese people are fixed on the Yangtze River, where Monday evening a cruise boat capsized in what could be the worst maritime disaster in years. As of Tuesday evening only 14 of the 456 people aboard the Eastern Star had been rescued, and five bodies had been found. That leaves hundreds of families and loved ones anxiously awaiting news.

The Chinese government dispatched rescue boats, military police and doctors to the scene of the accident. Premier Li Keqiang arrived at the river Tuesday, and state mediareported he was directing operations on site.

Ms Shanbaug was in the Intensive Care Unit of Mumbai's state-run King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital. Doctors had said a few days ago that Ms Shanbaug was suffering from pneumonia and was on ventilator support.

MUMBAI:  A 22-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run involving an unknown vehicle on Wednesday night. What is shocking is that she was lying injured for around 20 minutes in front of the Vanrai police station in Goregaon (East), but the cops did not notice the victim. The police still don't have any clue about the vehicle or the driver.

Archana Pandya was lying injured after the mishap, but did not get any help from passers-by. Police are also not sure if the CCTV covering the accident spot is functional.

CAIRO -- An Egyptian court on Saturday sentenced ousted President Mohammed Morsi to death over his part in a mass prison break that took place during the 2011 uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Sentenced To Death

BOSTON -- Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been sentenced to death for committing the Boston Marathon bombing, one of the worst acts of terrorism to take place on U.S. soil.

The same seven-woman, five-man jury that found the 21-year-old naturalized American citizen guilty in the April 15, 2013, attack reached the verdict after deliberating for more than 14 hours over three days. The only alternative sentence was life without parole.

The jury sentenced Tsarnaev to death on 6 of the 17 counts, including use of a weapon of mass destruction, bombing of a public place and malicious destruction of property. A death sentence required a unanimous vote from the jury members, but if they had failed to agree on it, the life sentence would have been imposed automatically.

After the deaths of Pepeng and Mpok Nori, another renowned Indonesian comedian, Didi Petet, passed away this morning. He was 58.

Didi Petet had just arrived in Indonesia after making a trip to Milan, Italy.
“Uncle Didi came back to Indonesia on the 10th [of May] from Milan after attending an exhibition there. In Milan, he fainted at one point, and when he arrived at the airport [in Jakarta] he was in a wheelchair,” said Didi Petet’s niece, Muthia Kautsar, as quoted by Kompas today.
